Jefferson City, Missouri lies on the path of totality for the August 21, 2017 total solar eclipse, and will experience 2 minutes and 29 seconds of totality around 1:15 pm CDT. The Capital Eclipse Celebration will celebrate three days of art, astronomy and live entertainment as well as a viewing of the eclipse on the Missouri State Capitol lawn and various locations around the city. Camping will be available on the north side of the Missouri River in the “Eclipse Village” and hotel rooms are booking fast. Customized Jefferson City safety glasses as well as other promotional items will be for sale in various locations throughout the celebration.
